the 2024 team is going to need Kling to do a high percentage of a facsimile of Crews. No one expects him to duplicate, and be POY, top 3 overall draft pick, but given he will be a draft-eligible sophomore, a season that is say 83% of what Crews delivered would be nice. Also need Jones to hit breaking balls. If he makes that adjustment to his game, he is primed for a monster season in also his draft-eligible sophomore season. White staying healthy will be important as well.
At pitcher, I'm assuming the following will not pitch for LSU either because of signing/draft or injury: Cooper, Ack, Taylor, Edwards, Noot and Shores.
That leaves Hurd as a definite Friday or Saturday starter, Herring in the Cooper role and Lohr in the Ack role. I'm hopeful one or both of the freshman lefties, Anderson and Brown assume the Herring role in long relief. That clearly means a portal weekend starter (or 2) are needed. I'm hopeful Burns is one of those guys, in which case he and Hurd are your clear Friday/Saturday guys. You'd have Lohr and Herring as potential Sunday starters, but another power righty via the portal would be ideal. Recall Skenes was a late portal entry and didn't commit to LSU until the end of July.

Noot got hurt before the season.
Do you think there’s a chance he comes back at least midway through the season next year, even if it’s only in a short relief role?
