Hell, my first 3 or 4 cars had no working A/C and I was living in N.O. at the time.
Hell, I didn't have A/C in any house I lived in until my now ex got pregnant in 77 for our son. Once I got it, I got spoiled and have had A/C ever since.

96 Black Jeep Grand Cherokee with no A/C back from 2005-2009 in that Baton Rouge heat and then a little while in NOLA. Drove it until 2012 and the heat had gone out by then while I was living in DC.
I’ll still roll down my windows in my car today because it’s what I got used to during those days
