I think Guidry wont pitch at all next year unless the need arises much like this season. If we have a string of more injuries and the pen is getting super thin of quality arms, I can see them using Guidry in some late game situations if they feel comfortable with a defensive replacement at SS...but if we have enough arms better to just leave him at SS.

If he in fact wins the SS job.

I dont know man, another year getting bigger and stronger and a proper off season and camp of training?

He is one of those guys that has nasty movement late. I know he is 18 but he never, never looked like a guy out there just trying to get some outs, he can pitch.

I think its pretty simple. If we wins the job, he doesnt see the mound. We saw how JJ stuck with Thompson at short even with his struggles at the plate. Granted he was a multi-year starter and leader. So theres no way Jay pulls Guidry off short just for him to pitch.

If he doesnt win the job then they may put him back in the reliver role.
