Not true. Paul was gently shown the door by Scott W and his retirement for medical reasons was probably not actually necessary. If Scott would not have pressed the issue of change, Paul would still be HC and we would still be good but not great.
Don't believe this. Additional evidence beyond talk around the Admin building two years ago was presented when Paul interviewed and wanted the UMiami job. Once he was eliminated from contention, he withdrew his name.
I will always appreciate Paul for righting the ship that Smoke had practically burned down. But we were never going to be a dominant program again with PM at the helm.

The trend that JJ has set is one of true long term greatness and will, IMO, result in "Skip like" championship numbers. May not be 5 Natty's in 10 years but it will be a heck of a lot better than 1 in 14 years. Not a believer? Just sit and watch as we again become a/the dominant college baseball program in NCAA!

Then why did he turn it down?

You're setting yourself up to be speaking about Jay in 15 years the same way you speak about Paul now.

You were in the meeting? No you weren’t, so now you take a malicious shot at a national championship coach and really good man. A real man doesn’t have to drag others down to try and make themselves look better. What a pathetic way to live life.
