Ya, the 2-1/2 hour drive one way kind of puts a damper on normal weekend or spur of the moment plans though.

I tried the fixed GI pier for a few hours about a week ago. They only fixed the bridgeside side. Caught only hardheads. Some wild people out there, pretty entertaining.

If you're around New Orleans area and looking for closer places without a boat...

There's a fairly new pier in Port Sulphur behind the school on Civic Dr

Bank fish off the side of Grand Bayou Rd in Port Sulphur

Bank fish off the side of the road between Reggio and Delacroix

Bonnabel Boat Launch Pier in Metairie
