Dude, you can pick a spot on the side of the road anywhere from Fourchon to Grand Isle and mop up on quality fish all fall & winter long. You can bounce from spot to spot, and find different water clarity, depths, bait, and types of fish. Then you have Elmers and GI beaches that are absolutely loaded with fish during the warm months. Its seriously *that* easy.
Gotta get out of that "boat or bust" mindset and look in to this type of fishing. A fishing pier is junk compared to these options IMO.
