How is telling your coach that you’re out of gas and it’s time to go to the pen “analytics”? He didn’t (to our knowledge) use data or charts or trends, he observed his own body becoming fatigued in the moment and reacted. That’s the opposite of analytics.

If you look at his game stats, he rarely went over 100 pitches once, and normally finished right at 85-90.

Why stretch someone and possibly start your reliever in a jam when that reliever is just as good?
