The problem is getting everybody on board for free CC. Tennessee managed it but when it was brought up here it was shot down as a “woke initiative”.

I like what Australia has where the government helps subsidize apprenticeships and works with employers to provide those across the board. It’s a structured pathway that can start when they are as a young as 15 years old.

It certainly is a place to start and will have more broad support than many other measures.

But until education systems go back to developing standards of behavior and performance, it isn't going to change.

Same thing happens in Alaska.

Still struggle to attract people to work despite the opportunity. Apprenticeships require classwork, I don't really see them any different than a paid 4 year training program.

The Gold mines locally pay an avg o 120k, state pays training and they can't keep up with labor demand.
