that's a fair grade. That's also a successful year from a grading standpoint

Right. I wouldn’t call this season a bust. But we are still lacking at this point, with a chance to remedy that.

I agree with the “it’s not fair to have a championship or bust mentality.” Because in the postseason one bad weekend (maybe even one bad game, or one bad inning) can doom your season.

My point with the SEC championship is we had 10 weekends to prove we were the best team in the SEC. Bad weekends happen, and the Auburn weekend didn’t hurt us bad. It was the 3-3 finish against Miss State and UGA that kept us from winning the SEC title. And that was disappointing.

But this team has stayed focused on the ultimate prize and are one of only eight teams left with a chance to reach that goal. This season has the chance to go from good to great with 9 more good days.
