Travel: Drove it once, probably won’t do it again. Was about 16 hour drive and broke it up into 2 days. Between gas and hotel room there and back, it was about $500. Booked round trip flights for wife and I about 6 months ago for cheaper. Isn’t a bad drive, just takes long and gets costly with gas/hotel stay.

Hotel: I’ve been 4 or 5 times and have always stayed across the river in Council Bluffs (Iowa). Majority of hotels provide complementary shuttle service to and from the field and airport. Tips are very appreciated.

Tickets: You had to have purchased them in April and they sold out in less than an hour. In the past, they used to sell general admission books, but they stopped doing this a few years ago. All seats are reserved now, even the outfield so your only move now is the secondary market (StubHub or TicketMaster).

Duration: I’d recommend going the whole time, it’s only 10-11 days now. If you can’t go the whole time and like baseball, then go the first weekend. 2 games a day for 5 days. If you’re not a huge baseball fan, go the 2nd half and watch LSU bring home a National Championship.

Anyone know if Harrah's in Council Bluffs offers a shuttle to and from the stadium?

Thank you for the Hotel info. I have been trying to figure out if they would have shuttles!

The good ole days. 2009 was amazing. You just had to earn it waiting on that stupid hot berm. In a way, reserved seats are better to allow more time in your day.

Good info you laid out here
