Unfortunately that’s not how it works. Trump will likely win the primary. And lose the general by A LOT.

Primaries and Generals are different.

As seen in 2022 with Trump backed candidates, to the detriment of the GOP.

For whatever reason, Trump endorsements drive primary voters.

And has been seen for decades, right leaning voters will not just automatically vote for whatever R is on the ballot in the general elections. Unlike typical Dems.

So, DeSantis is such a great formidable opponent to Biden, but can't beat Trump in the primary? Sounds like a shitty candidate to me.
