Wife’s Facebook page was hacked

They changed her password, login email, and phone number.
I have emailed FB and tried FB recovery but after 1 month we have had zero luck.
When I click on on her profile on the computer the new login email appears. So I know the login but when I click on change password I need to get into the email account to get the code.
Question, can anybody here hack into this fake email account?
Can anybody point me in the right direction?

She locked you out of your joint Facebook account?

I don’t know if there was a connection or if it was a coincidence, but a good friend had her Facebook page hacked and they did the same thing. Shortly after that happened, they got into her bank and credit union accounts and transferred money out. If she does online banking, I’d have her change her passwords.

yeah like said below, go change ALL of your passwords to really random stuff. Update all of your info with current phone numbers and use SMS verify or the google authenticator where offered. Nothing is foolproof but you gotta at least try!

Happened to my wife years ago…need to use your account or another family/friend to report the issue. At least that’s what had to be done years ago.

She wasn't hacked. She probably unknowingly clicked a link and shared her login credentials with someone by being oblivious.
Also, nobody can hack into another email address. At least on this site and even if so, nobody will do it for free.

This doesn't add up, they would need to auth from her email or phone to change that info.

My wife's FB was hacked a few years ago while we on vacation with the kids at Great Wolf Lodge. She spent most of her time trying to get it back, emailing support, etc. Like all distraught over it. Even upset at me because I'm tech savvy and couldn't fix it. She finally got it back after two months but it took a lot of leg work.
She ended up deleting Facebook last year because she realized how much time she wasted on it.
