Why do you think all of the MLS clubs have agreed to pitch in financially for Messi to play in their league?

I don't like all the clubs pitching in for him in theory, but understand the business side of it.

My objection will be how they fit Suarez and Busquets in the team if those rumors are true. As it stands they have all 3 DP slots filled. From reading about their roster construction, Gregore was already bought down to TAM but listed as a DP to fill the slot until they got a 3rd. Supposedly Pizzaro will be sold soon opening up a second. Josef got there in January so who knows his situation. Campana is going to age out of the young DP slot if I understand the rule correctly after this season, so he will need to be sold or kept on a non-DP slot.

It will be nearly impossible for them to meet the roster requirements if everything comes to fruition. Changing the rules to benefit them in the middle of this process would be what pisses me off.

If it were for Messi to have a cup of coffee in the MLS and then leave, I would be right with you but he is going to be invested in growing the league.

That's a fair argument and I agree with you, a lot of things are still in motion currently but I hope they do what is best for the league.

After thinking on this for a little while, wouldn’t all clubs have used up their DP spots at this point in the season? How would clubs normally pursue players with expiring contracts or looking to move after the Euro leagues have wrapped up?
