Someone else was warming with him, think it was Coop or Ack can't remember. The plan was most likely to send the other guy warming with a short leash and if the game got tight send Hurd out there to stop the bleeding and assure the win. Luckily it didn't come to that.

If it's a 1 run game late into game 1 in the Supers then Hurd may come in to make sure we finish the win but otherwise I think we save him for a closing spot in game 2 with a lead or a game 3 start if it looks like that'll be necessary

If we get to Omaha I would imagine Hurd would be saved to start a 3rd game especially if we get a win in the first game with Skenes starting which would guarantee a 3rd game.
