If you are using a live animal trap, Please practice how you are going to open the trap to release the coon.

Coons are very aggressive and you don't want your hands anywhere close. I figured out how to use a couple of stiff wires with bent ends to get the door open.

Even after practicing some, when it came time to release it, I used the 22. That coon was mad.

cover the trap with a towel, Cletus, like they do on Wild Kingdom.

My trap has a release on top hear the handle. Keeps my hands away from the openings. I caught one back in Georgia but I didnt have to worry about him coming back. I let him go on an island on the lake.

Yeah I always used welding gloves to make sure there was no potential to have a bite through.
