If you're working downtown I would suggest finding a place within walking distance of the DART rail Red Line. Traffic is unfathomable heading into downtown and this will save your wallet and sanity. Just stay generally north of downtown. Uptown is expensive but worth it for a person your age

This is great advice. When I stayed in Dallas I thought I would save $400 a month and drive in, not worth it at all. Uptown is walkable and will have a good bit of stuff for you to do (and lots of single people if you are single).

Uptown/West Village around the Katy Trail is exactly where I’d live if I was 24. There are a ton of apartments and close to rail stations.

Being near the Katy Trail Ice House would be a nice bonus too. Best scenery in Dallas on that trail. ;)
