Yeah, biking is dangerous as shite. Glad you're OK. The risk/reward is just not there for me. Basically everyone I know who rides a lot has been in at least one horrific accident.
I was with some relatives in Denmark a few years ago and everyone rides bikes everywhere (not a lot of helmets either). I asked almost jokingly - "have you been in any crushing accidents?" and the were like, oh yeah, all the time.
