Is this an a over the stove one? Built into wall? Typically a built into wall is just a counter top version that's been put into a frame.
Nonetheless, I have fixed a broken GE microwave.
Typically, there are a few parts that cause your issue.
Some parts to exchange are not very expensive, maybe $10-$20.
Mine ended up being the magnetron, which I'm guessing these days is $100 or so, depending if you want OEM or not. Wasn't super difficult to swap out.
But since, mine was above the stove with the exhaust fan, etc. a new one was gonna run me , at the time, $400'-500.
