I drive a 2005 Toyota Camry with 140,000 miles on it. Insurance is cheap gas is cheap and I haven’t had a car note in 15 years. These morons with $700 to $1000 notes on depreciating assets are idiots. I use the extra money to max out 401k/Roth/HSA.

depreciating assets
That's pretty much my mindset, too.
If my goal is financial independence, why dump money into depreciating assets.
If my goal is early retirement, why dump money into depreciating assets.
Now there are other goals in life, too. And I understand families with RVs, boats, motorcycles.
But based on getting one from point A to point B, I subscribe to your point of view.

I agree and am on board with the same plan.
I do wonder sometimes whether we're really the idiots though. They may have the last laugh when the Dems forgive their debts and means test and reduce our SS and seize our retirement funds "for the greater good"
