Mike Leach TT Urban Meyer UF Bob Stoops UO Mack Brown Texas Joe Paterno PS Nick Saban Bama Les Miles LSU Mark Richt UG Steve Spurrier USCarolina Bobby Petrino Ark

These are the coaches that I think are the best in no particular order. Some of them are not having great years but I think that they have talent for coaching and in the long run that will prove out. Fire away.

Hey, thats the way I see it. SEC is usually the best conference...maybe the conference is having a bit of an off year. Big 12 South is well represented.

much better list, still can't believe the OP doesn't have Pete Carroll in the top 10, how can you not?

The fact that you have these two and not Pete Carroll destroys any credibility of the overall list.

I think Pete belongs in the top ten, but how great of a coach is he really.

Ding ding ding.

One Pete would be getting crucified if he were the LSU coach for not winning a national title every year with that talent all because we lost to Moo St or Vandy every year.

I like your list, even if it has 11 coaches on it. I'd probably delete Peterson, though I do think he's a great coach.

Yeah, I think Paterno is pretty much a figurehead like Bowden now.

I don't necessarily agree with the order but this is a pretty solid list.

I don't believe Spurrier is over rated. I believe that some of the players he promised scholarships to and then were denied entrance by US Carolina has been a real problem for Spurrier.

Spurrier managed to post a fair record at UF.
