Most of my shots are 200-300 yards. I don't take shots longer than that unless someone's spotting for me. It's funny how after one's been shooting a town for a while, a close shot <100 yards will surprisingly pop up. Not being able to spot my shots (unless I make a hit that gets some "air time" from the pd) is a drawback for my specialty pistols. OTOH, guys shooting the 204 Ruger can spot their own shots, a real advantage. I have two pd hunting rifles I'v built for guests who don't have a pd gun to borrow. Every now and then I shoot them so I can spot my shots.
