Will be driving from palm desert to San Diego. Is that a bad drive?
Talks to Big Sur hwy people and we will not be able to make trip from Monterey to San Simeon. Plan is to leave sequoia and go to the ragged point inn. Stay the night and then head south.
Thoughts?

I still don't understand why you are driving all the way out there. I assume you are going from Disney/the concert to Joshua Tree? You are looking at 2 hours, minimum. But any LA traffic is horrible and takes a lot longer than you think. You can see these trees without driving all that way. Spend more time in the San Diego area and see the Zoo, Balboa Park, the USS Midway Museum, La Jolla Cove, etc.
I think you will see Joshua trees along your drive.
