I think you may be severely under-estimating your drive time to all these places. It takes longer than it should to get around the parks in the north and driving from OC to SD could be a nightmare.
Y’all are going to spend your whole vacation in the car.
I would break this trip into 2…do the LA, SD stuff this time…(plenty to do in both cities, then come back for the northern part.

Will be driving from palm desert to San Diego. Is that a bad drive?
Talks to Big Sur hwy people and we will not be able to make trip from Monterey to San Simeon. Plan is to leave sequoia and go to the ragged point inn. Stay the night and then head south.
Thoughts?
