Once you remove the pick-6's the 08 D has allowed an avg of 20 pts per game. the 07 squad at same point had allowed 16.7. I think the problems with the D started last year. thoughts?

In this day and age 16.7 is plenty low to give up a game!!

Biggest difference between the 2 seasons is turnovers. Last year we gave up huge yardage but got turnovers. This year we give up huge yardage and turn the ball over.

Last year why were we regarded to have one of the top D's in the nation? Our big bright spot was the VA Tech game. and yes the UK 3OT game does screw with the numbers but our D needs more teeth and it started well before the two-headed DC monster took over.

A) Turnovers
B) We didn't give up a ton of yards to shitty teams
C) Preseason Hype. We played 2 SOLID and FULL impressive games early in the season in Ms. St. and VT. After that we didn't do much at all.

Did we ever end up with a redzone stop last season?

+20 TO margin 2nd best in the nation

NCAA stats

Regardless at one point late in the season we were dead last in red zone defense. NCAA doesn't have red zone D on the site, I'll look elsewhere to see where we ended up.

I don't care how tired they are there is no excuse for shite showings against App. St., State, and Troy.

What did we have last year? 2 good showings? If nothing else last year we hammered the shite teams, this year not so much.

Only 20 pts??

Numerous problems on defense. Its time for a complete overhaul on the defensive coaching side of the ball.

Thoughts? Once you remove the pick 6's, LSU's defense still ranks 10th in the conference in yards allowed per game.

And I guess holding a very explosive Florida offense with a heisman QB in Tim Tebow to 20 points last year was complete shite too?

To make this accurate, you have to remove all of the points allowed in OT by the 07 team

true...

remove the 21 scored by kentucky and in regulation we allowed 14.8 pts per game in 07 up to this point in the season.

2008 removing 7 pts from the bama game (btw when was the last time we won an OT game?) and we surrendered 19.3 pts per game so far this season.
