Texas has a $0.20/gal tax

$200 is is equivalent to buying 1000 gallons.

20,000 miles at 20mpg would equal paying $200 in taxes.

Think that $200 year is excessive as most cars are better then 20 mpg and most people drive less the. 15000 mile/year.

Exactly. The system is set up to use the gas tax to keep up the roads. Why should the regular folks have to subsidize those who use EV and don’t pay their share? The only real unfair component to those EV folks would be those who don’t drive the average yearly miles.

Why aren’t you including other taxes? How does federal collect funding from EVs? Is it wrong to just assume all these taxes work together to fund roads? So if you get less federal revenue you have to make it up somewhere.
