Trailer tire help

Trying to put new trailer tires on my boat trailer but there is no clearance between the new tire and the fender well. The new tire is the ST215/75 R14 the old tire was ST215/75 D14.
Is this the wrong size tire for the trailer? When I bought the boat that’s what size was on it so I just replaced with the same.

U may be fine with a impact gun and shift back the axle a inch or two and make sure it’s centered

DS&Fit will tell you.
But it Looks like your axle is set back and I cannot tell what tire soze the old one is.

It may be that who ever serviced the boat trailer before you bought it replaced the Ubolts and accidentally put it forward an inch or two. Very simple and easy to do

No. The right tire size is the biggest one that'll fit. Either the fender or the axle or both are not where they should be. Get a tape measure and figure out what is out of place.

I’d recognize that trailer and Kenner tribal tat anywhere. Be warned, if the u bolts are original that may be toast, also my welded brackets that hold the bunk boards were toast.

Your axle is off, or your fender. How did the old tires wear?
