I’m super excited about the start of academies but they are still not being close to the standard that they are in Europe
Yea sure the Philly U-16 beat Madrids U-14 B squad but a lot of the euro academy coaches say they are still seeing the same thing with the development of American players when they play against them. Heavy reliance on athleticism and not much on the technical side. That’s a big reason why the level of kids who don’t bolt to Europe at the first chance they get isn’t that great.
Lots of soccer in this country is still about just have better athletes than the other team.
