Questions for renting out party games / equipment

I’ll use an example of inflatables, but it could be anything that is set up and left somewhere for a party.
Has anyone here done this as a side business? Pros and cons, and what did you do for insurance?

A co-worker and her husband did it for a side gig a couple of years-water slides and jumpers.
It’s a lot of work.The worst part is after they picked them up they had to bring them home and set them back up to dry and clean.
Took them awhile to pay for them and trailer to haul them on.After a couple years they were done with it.

This is another expense, as well as storage for the equipment.
I'm thinking of large dry yard games, so nothing wet or inflatable. That could help, but from what I keep hearing regarding these types of things, after a few years

Your biggest competitor is amazon. You renting it has to make more sense than someone buying it. If you can buy it off amazon for $200-300 how much would someone rent it for? A bike rental for example is something like $15-20/ day for a $200/ bike. If you can buy horseshoes off Amazon for $75 no one is going to rent them for $50, as an example.
I have used Prime Property and Casualty Insurance out of Utah. They insure exactly stuff like this that is rented out, basically everything that is rented outside of cars they insure. Maybe cars too? IDK
But yes as said, its more than just dropping something off and being done with it. I bought a full size freaking huge jump house for $800 3 years ago. Thing weighs like 200 lbs, but its not the weight that's the issue its the size. Rolled up we can put it on a dolly and strap it down to move from my garage to the back of the house. Its still a huge pain by yourself to do. Especially if you had to get it in or out of like a truck.

I've been seeing some ads for companies that rent out the golf simulators. I think that would be a pretty cool business that, if you're in a decent sized city/town you could make some money with if you get out there and promote it. That said, if I had one, I'd probably end up using it more for myself than I would for renting out.

That was my first job. Packing rented spacewalks into tiny Ford Pintos that arrived to pick up their rented Spacewalks. Then, the return off said spacewalks muddy and wet bundles.
