Isn't he refering to the '01 game vs. Auburn. This game was moved b/c of 9/11. We won thus winning the SEC West and the fans rushed the field. Did this happen in '05 too? That was a bad year for New Orleanians so I could be wrong.
Sorry if this topic has been discussed.

I saw that too. He was talking about 01 Auburn after 9/11 when the students rushed the field.

No, I was at both the florida, and auburn games that year, and they were back to back home games in october.

he was thinking of the 9/11 season in 01.

auburn game got moved to the last game of the season. we onside kicked to start the game (I think? or was it after halftime?)

To start the game. AU got an unsportsmanlike for jumping on the eye. Our trumbone player kicked their kicker's arse (Duval I think) at halftime.

and we got an onside kick, promptly drove the length and scored first!

I was there, everyone, not just students, rushed the field and goal posts stayed up.

The Last time the goal poast came down was 97 vs Fla. In 01 They had more Cops lined up on each goal post than Krispy Cream had all month. I was there also and Have the Dirt/Grass from the eye of the tiger on my wall. I Also remember a Dumb arse cop grabbing and throwing down kids as they jumped the fence. No arresting, No you cant get on he field, Just grabbing, Throwing onto the ground, and going to the next one jumping the fence. I wish Camera phones were arround back then.

So are you, T.

The last time a goal post came down was that same year, but vs. Alabama.

Albeit only 1 came down. 2000 was the year of rushing the field.
