The HPV vaccine will pretty much wipe out throat cancer in the younger generation.

however the other significant risk factors are tobacco and alcohol. Both remain the primary non-HPV etiologies for head & neck cancer

Yes but HPV has become the leading cause of oropharyngeal cancers the last few years.
