Girl tried to sell me on her husband being a Tiger

I was in touch with a business in Seattle I'm considering for a purchase, and talking on the phone with this woman who is their broker. Somehow the subject of college comes up and when she hears LSU from me says, "Oh, my husband played football at LSU."
"Oh, really?" I say, "What's his name and when did he play?"
I zip over to LSUSports and have the rosters up in about 10 seconds. She says, "he played in 1997, '98 and '99. He was a starter and played DT."
I asked again, "What was his name?"
"Curtis Main"
Hmm, I didn't recall ever seeing that name, so I checked 95 - 96, 96 - 97, 97 - 98, 99 - 2000. Nope, not there.
"Are you sure it was LSU?" I asked.
"Well, yes. He's got LSU stuff all over the house", she says.
So, I say to her, "Just out of curiosity, did he have any siblings and where was he from?"
She said, "He was from Slidell, and he was an only child. His parents passed away before we met."
So, I told her that was too bad, but "Hey! Here's a web site you can go to with your husband that shows all the football rosters back to 1954. Maybe he can find himself there and relive his football glory with you." Then I gave her the web site address by sending her a link.
So... either I caught her in a lie just to get my good will, or... her husband (an LSU fan in Seattle) is about to get caught in one great big lie that he's told his wife.

Great. You destroyed a marriage and maybe even a family. You should pat yourself on the back.

I was at "Firehouse Subs" the other day in an LSU shirt and some 'Bama woman asked me if I remember "Tommy Boudreaux" . Says he played QB in the '80's and she used to work with him. I told her I'm pretty good about names and we didn't have too many QB's in the 80's and none were named 'Tommy Boudreaux'.
She seemed annoyed and agitated and insisted he STARTED for LSU at QB. Why do tools go around saying the played for some big time program ?
