Played against his son Jarret. He was a gamer.

He was a good coach. His oldest son was damn good, pretty sure he got a cup of coffee in the bigs.

He’s pretty much a legend according to most Vidalia residents

He was a great coach…very organized and got kicked out of games in every state he ever coached in..
Jarrett had a couple of months in the Bigs…Josh was on a couple of 40 mans but never got up to the show. The program was really good from 94-06 or so. Not so good now.

Pretty damn good. Produced a lot of ballers over the years. He was also the kind of coach who would recognize players from the other local high schools and make a point to always speak to them with a good word and ask how we were doing.

Yep.

I remember one year, I wanna say it was 03ish, Vidalia and Jena played like a scrimmage or late season added game before the playoffs started. Both teams were absolutely loaded that year. It was a damn good game.

The Vidalia tournament and those fried fish plates every year were a thing of legend

Not only was he a great coach, he was an exceptional groundskeeper. Our field was always top notch. He took pride in it.

We faced Bowden my sophomore year and he made us look like a bunch of tee ballers out there. Legit stud.

Also when I was a freshman his son hit a ball off me that never got higher than 4 feet off the ground and hit the left center fence. An absolute rope.

Faced him one time at a tournament in Mangham and grounded out, was just happy to make contact.

Must have been fun being on home run gathering duty during BP at practice with Raphael Dangerfield, Adam Jones, Adam Williams, The Cooksey Twins, and company

I bet we know each other. I went to and played at Block and was a freshman that year too.

Don’t forget Brant King as well. That sucker was about like Jared Jones for LSU. If he got on one, that ball was gone lol.
