I did buy some occasionally in college -- didn't hate it. My curiosity came via all the advertisements on the track as a Formula 1 fan.

I never disliked it either. Always liked the commercials they ran here in the US. But went to Oz on a backpacking trip after graduation and tried to order one at the first bar we went to, was laughed at. Never saw it sold anywhere the entire time I was there.

They serve it at pretty much every Western F1 GP. I always thought it was odd given Ozzies don't drink it much. Great Northern, XXXX, and Carlton are what you see most in Australia but they are also pretty regional so it differs in different areas. You also get to choose whether you want a stubby, tinny or tally. A 12oz beer is right between a stubby and tinny.
