I don’t see the big deal.. They’re thinking it over and probably crunching numbers and would like to know if there’s another offer incoming. Not that unreasonable

Realtors (99% of them) are all slime balls that watch way too much million dollar listing and think they can do the same.
Go FSBO and handle it on your own. That way you can negotiate directly.
Unfortunately both realtors typically have their best interests in mind vs their clients.

No that's shitty RE talk. That is a scripted line every buyer rep gives to try and make the seller jump through hoops, over react and throw the kitchen sink at the buyer.
OP is right, that line is a load of crap.
