Yeah, I'm noticing that he ALWAYS takes up for this kid. JL's mistakes or bad play is always because of coaching where they don't play to his strengths or something like that.

When our defense was giving up 50+ pts, I Miles had no problem with calling out the defense and speaking on their lack of execution. He spoke of how they were playing the right schemes and that the right plays were called but the players were not executing and making plays.

Why not take up for the ENTIRE team the same way. JL has really turned me off to Miles. I was not a BIG fan of him but I ride with whoever is the coach. At the same time, I feel it is unfair to the rest of the team that they are OBVIOUSLY not being given the same margin of error as JL. I don't care what anybody thinks but this is the kind of things that divide teams. D. Byrd I think is an example of this. You will never get me to believe that he is a supporter of JL.

dude, it's his fricking job to take up for his players

would a recruit want to come to a program that hung its players out to dry when they were having a rough time?

Look - you don't know what goes on out of the public eye. He may be giving the kid hell in face to face meetings.

The facts are that Lee is all we got. Having the head coach dump on him in public certainly does not help him or the team.

I think it is ok for the coach to say something like the "defense didn't play up to their capabilities" because there are lots of other players waiting to take individual defense positions if the starters don't start playing up to their potential.

Now, if there was a reliable QB sitting on the bench and if the coach refused to put him in and still made excuses for pathetic play, then you may have a point.

I think it is obvious Miles does not have that luxury. There is no replacement for Lee. We are stuck with him. Further destroying him is not the way to make him play better against Ol Miss.

Lee is who we got. I would love to see JJ more, but from what I saw last night, he is certainly not the answer to our QB problems for sure.

We are down to a multiple choice question with only two options.

Who do we start as QB?
a Lee
b JJ

Life sucks.
