This is one of my fears, going to the beach or lake and picking up a flesh eating bacteria and dying a few days later. I feel like I’ve never heard of someone surviving flesh eating bacteria.

Considering it took this guy 3 weeks to die and he put off going to the doctor until the last second I’d say plenty of people have survived.

I manage a catfish farm with over 100 ponds and a hatchery that is full of this shite. It’s pretty much everywhere in a warm climate with water
It’s a fear but the reality is if your immune system is ok is you unlikely you get the infection. If you’ve swam in the ocean or a lake/pond/river you’ve come into contact with the bacteria. If you’ve fallen off water skies and had water forced up your nose you’ve ingested water with cholera.
There is bacteria all around us every day that can kill us. Our immune system protects us from it so we don’t realize it
