the guitar ads. You wouldn't believe the guitar ads I get...
Anyway, a few hours ago, a sweetwater ad flashed of this guitar, that was like an offset telly, with a strange transparent blue color and controls set up in a different way.
It didn't show the headstock and the image changed before I could click on it and find out what it was.
I guess I'm gonna be here all night now.

As luck would have it, almost as soon as I posted this topic, the ad popped back up, and I caught it. It's really more like an offset strat. Pretty cool looking I thought.
LINK
It's a Guild Surfliner.
Damn, this thing has a lot of frets.

First thing I think of when I see that is a Jag, not a Tele.

It was just a flash the first time. There wasn't enough time to process everything.

Does Guild make anything decent anymore? The fact they are buying ads to sell their guitars tells me....no.

I get ads from every builder, including Fender custom shop.
That Fabrege dolphin egg guitar they are finishing up right now is badd arse.

Ok, how does it sound though. I guess with modern day digital effects it doesn't really matter how the guitar "sounds", electric guitars are just a platform for electronics and microchip driven simulations. I may be one of the few who care how it sounds plugged into a fender custom deluxe.

Doesn't really matter, I'm not buying a $40 thousand guitar.
I do like to see those though.
I love seeing, and hearing, the beauty that can be achieved when somebody puts their resolve to it.
