You can still ban abortions the way planned parenthood wants to promote abortions and still be reasonable to allow abortions under the philosophical/theological principle of "double effect" like in the cases were the mother's life is on the line for ectopic pregnancies.

*The religious right still bringing losses to the party. The 1849 law does not fit at all in a swing state. No matter what one's personal beliefs are.

Even so called deep red/conservative states have exceptions. Wisconsin appears to be really a conservative state that is motivated to vote blue due to some out of date laws on the books.
