Women’s World Cup games, especially semis and finals involving US, do similarly very well. Definitely helped that Clark and Mulkey are maybe the two biggest draws in all of women’s basketball, but still.

Issue is that the numbers don’t really correlate to overall increases for the game. A ton of the people watching these big finals are female fans who just aren’t that into sports. They’ll watch these big one off games or events but they aren’t going to change up their entire lives and start religiously following and watch WNBA/Womens professional soccer/Wednesday college games/etc.

Definitely agree, but if you can give me multiple Reese/Clark situations (both controversial and relating to star power), then I'd be more inclined to watch the women's game. Everyone loves a good rivalry and competitive stars going at it.
