I seriously don’t know how people could listen to Hi Ren, Chalk Outlines, Hunger, Tale of Jenny & Screech, and Illiest of our time; and not coming away in awe of the talent.

It's over some people's head. Not that they're not smart people. They just haven't faced the kind of problems that make them appreciate the hard, introspective type of material.
And then you have some that have been there, and don't want to be reminded. That really is the problem with that type of thing, but hey, he's getting appreciated by an old country arse like me in Alabama, so he's doing OK.
