Man, frick that. I think I paid $4,800 for my 54" residential john deere about 3 years ago, and it's PLENTY enough mower for 7 acres.

Like everything else. Mowers have increased in price significantly over the last couple years.

As far as Joh Deere. Their residential line falls far behind some of the other brands I looked at. I know they make some good stuff especially commercial but not the residential units I looked at.

You can get a cheaper mower but I wouldn’t for that many acres. All the manufacturers make residential models starting as low as $3k but it won’t last near as long. I hope to get 15 years out of a purchase.
