No, that was tried in the Civil War. Besides, even the red states are desperate for the federal tit of funding.

All the way down to your local police.

There's a reason Fed financial "assistance" for police and sheriff depts has ramped up of the past few decades.

*My county has the same population it did 50 years ago, yet has 6 times as many deputies as it did in 1970. Paid for in large part by the federal government.

There are cities in Red states that need that government tit.

Blue states would fold first because they rely on government, and government will let you down first.

Funny how suddenly the history matters.

The Civil War happened in an era when America was considered a backwater with only passing value. The world powers at the time didn't give a single shite what happened.

Secession hits tomorrow, and the entire planet would be vested in not allowing America to end civilization by Civil Warring itself.

Would have to intercept fed tax dollars from individuals. Have them go through state coffers first to counter the federal bribery of the States.
