Be serious- you have to coach to win and you have a QB that could allow a ULM defeat today

"son, we have and will be behind you. Be patient and focus on the right reads....they will be there. Most importantly, do not force it. If you need to just throw it away and let us fight it another day. Alos, if I see you getting off track, I am going to send in JJ to give you some time to get it together. You have an army of talented teammates out there who want nothing better for you succeed and will do everything they can to see that happen.......you are their QB. And, son, just relax and try to have fun without winning the game on one play."

I can almost assure this is the basic tone to every pregame Les has given him.

you are most likely correct- so then the question is
does JL let it go in one ear and out the other? or does he have a brain freeze when he enters the game?
or does he have a pride, arrogance or over confidence streak inside him?

Or does he really think he is better than it is?

+1

Maybe he needs to see Dwayne Bowe's eye doctor?

probably none of your negative assumptions are true....

as it was said in the old days,

sometimes when you are up to your arse in alligators, it is hard to remember that the purpose for the whole thing was to drain the swamp.

i think the likelihood is that his lack of experience allows for him "to get rattle and make mistakes", but not for any of the reasons listed...he is just GREEN still

i'd tell him to throw more passes to toliver & dickson...they seem to catch the ball when it's thrown to them.

handoff to CS & KW. Throw sparingly to Dickson
and Byrd. Run wild tiger more.

throw the ball away
take a freakin' sack
don't throw it in the vicinity of 3 defenders
tuck it and run

I mean, how hard is this really? This is something a 10th grade high school QB should understand and know. Does he really have to be told this every game?

...go out there and have some fun. It is the same game you have been playing since you were 6 years old. You are fortunate to be one of thousands of people who are lucky enough to play this game beyond H S and go out there and play like you practice!!!!

Actually, didn't he just start playing QB as a junior in HS? Thought that was one theory on why he doesn't seem to see the field very well.
