Carpel Tunnel and Pregnancy

My wife is 8.5 months pregnant and the CT symptoms are getting bad.
I'm doing all I can think of from a conservative medical approach. I got her night braces and I have some exercises for her. And its still pretty bad.
If she wasn't pregnant I would have already injected them, but can't do that.
Do y'all have any extra advice?

Consult with her OBGYN. That's what they're there for.

She hates asking questions when we go to her appointments. I get the look when I open my mouth

My wife and I had our first kid in November. Throughout the entire process, the doctor said to never worry about anything and to only let THEM worry. She highly encouraged us to come with any and all questions, even in the final days.
Take it with the mindset of "better to have it and not need it, rather than to need it and not have it" with your questions.

I agree. I wasn't able to make her most recent appointment or I would have brought it up.
These every two week appointments are hard for me to break away from clinic. Next week they go to every week.

I don't think it hurts to contact the doctor on your own time and ask without your wife present. I'm not sure if it's a HIPAA violation, but just tell her and see what could happen. You don't want to find out later on down the road that it was something preventable. It could be nothing, but you never know.

Is the pregnancy making it worse?
If so, and the baby is fully cooked you can use this to your advantage. The only way to relieve the pain is to have the baby and they say sex is the best way to bring about labor.
Ergo, the only way to make her CT better is very likely a lot of sex.

Can confirm this. The mucus plug came out about 15 minutes after, water broke a little around 9 hours after, then a lot more broke an hour after that.
We were about 8 months 3 weeks in.

Yea it is getting worse. I gave her some wrist stretches to do and that is helping the most. The braces are not helping much.

I like the way you think. Should like a doctor.

Increased swelling in the hands/wrists during pregnancy increases compression on the median nerve within the carpal tunnel. No full resolution until baby comes out, but you can try dry needling with an experienced PT and can get temporary relief.. hopefully until its time

She’s already pregnant, might as well go for the real thing.

Talk to her OB/GYN and see an Ortho hand specialist.
The local corticosteroid injection should help and is reasonable if other conservative treatment has failed.

That's the exact website I use for my patients and its the exercises I gave her.
The Median Nerve Glides and Tendon Glides are helping her out the best.
I want to do an injection, but I'm leery since she's 8.5 months pregnant. As soon as I can get permission from her OBGYN, I will.
