That may have been what he told Morgan, but here’s what I think happened: The ump, like all umps, didn’t like Morgan flipping the bat on ball four that was called a strike. He was willing to overlook it though. He probably also noticed the exuberant Morgan bat flipping on ball 4s and thought it was a little over the top and may have even checked the rules on it.
After Morgan hit the home run he makes an absolute point to stomp on home after raising his leg fairly high. I believe he was so emphatic in an attempt to show up the ump a little from the bad call on ball 4.
The ump then chose to retaliate about the only way he could, via the rules, with a warning about some innocuous rule he read.

What I'd like to know is what did CJJ tell all the players as they were circled around him: several started laughing & CJJ turned back towards the field with a smile on his face. The focus on the players' faces was quite clear.

Seriously? That Ump handled it with all class! Go rewatch it. He didn’t make a scene AT ALL. He even patted Morgan on the chest.
The Arky series is ALWAYS spicy as will Ten this weekend due to the disdain LSU has for DVH and TV. That game was far from over there and he did EXACTLY what he should have.
Just stop with blaming others.
Morgan was wrong and instead of making a huge scene, the Ump handled him like a man and made sure he gave Tre a positive reinforcement gesture as if he was still a kid that he is.
