Mesa Boogie Mark IIV

Don't ask me how they skipped the 6, but in my opinion they have hit the holy grail. It's around $3800 and honestly I can't argue with it. Of course they have the IIC+ mode, and it's more spot on than anything I've heard. Thicker palm muting on that E than I've heard before, and the Mark growl on any chord is ridiculous. What do y'all think, before I sell a kidney to get this thing
Just a bedroom recording but it's badass
IIC+ mode

They're fantastic, but they still have that somewhat flat digital sound, like the current Metallica sound, that you just don't get the push from the legit Mark series

I sure as hell can..
They need to be coming down instead of going up, with where tech is going.
Im a fan of Amp heads and vintage 30 cabs etc..but they're in denial.
I've got money, and if I'm giving $4000 for an Amp head it better come with my logo on it made from polished steel or some shite.

Any “flatness” is in the eq or your speakers. Live, they’re indistinguishable from the real thing.
I will never understand someone who can justify spending more than $1600 on a guitar or an amp. Maybe having never had that kind of disposable income, I just can’t wrap my head around it, but it just seems so unnecessary.

Well maybe it's just Metallica's settings because they aren't nearly as thick and big as their late 80s and early 90s IIC+'s
I'm a hobby player that just uses a multi effect pedal and a speaker. The only big time amp I had was a Mark III red stripe that was a $1000 and that was 10 years ago. I played around with it in the garage for a while and it's absolutely badass, but it was too much amp for me. You couldn't get the real tone unless you cranked it dnd that damn thing would take down a plane when you did. I sold it for $1200 so I made $200. Now those amps go for around $2000. I saw 2 Mark IIC+'s on the entire internet. One was $10,000 and the other was $13,000

Oh I'm never gonna buy it but I'd like to go to Guitar Center and pretend I am so I can play around with it

I got my 5150 for $670 back in the day.

That a great amp. You got it for a song!
I will say, though, after years if gigging with a tube amp and pedal board, I’ve come around on the digital revolution. If I was investing in my guitar rig now, I’d either be going all digital with an all-in-one modeler or I’d be getting a cab sim pedal like the dream 65 or strymon iridium so I don’t have to haul an amp to most shows anymore. I’ll probably invest in in-ears first, though

Same, but I still use both.
I'm wanting to upgrade my software, get a new computer that can handle what I'm running.
..was watching a documentary about how recording was done. I can't imagine actually having to do the work that goes into doing all this on tape. What a nightmare that would be on your own.

Currently, I gig live with analogue everything and record digitally. I’ll eventually get the live setup digital as well

I'm kind of intimidated by it, like..I don't know what I need and things change so much every few years now.
Last time I bought a PC for home recording was in like 2015. I've never bought a Mac or whatever the hell people are using to incorporate. The research and self education on 2023 and 2024 products is going to take a while.

I've owned IIs, IIIs, IVs, a V, a variety of Single and Dual Recto stacks, a Rectoverb combo and a Tremoverb stack AND combo over the last 30-plus years.
The '90 green stripe III with select modern mods in more recent years from Mike B. himself in Petaluma wins for me, hands down, no question nor hesitation.
I wanted, so badly, to love the Mark V but six months into ownership I was convinced it did many things good but nothing great. At its price point, it should have.
From what I have heard of the VII so far, I have zero interest in investing that kind of money to get what I'd bet is the same ROI the V gave me.

I bought one about 6 months after it was released after watching a video of it profiling an old Bassman. By far the best gear purchase I've ever made.

I’ve seen one for sale on Facebook marketplace recently. I want to pull the trigger so bad, but I know I can’t afford it right now.

I'd take a hard look at the ToneX pedal if I was in the market, it looks incredible and the price is ridiculously low.
