Yesterday I was bored looking for weekend plans. I found flights to cancun for $230 rt direct and took it. I've never on a whim just went somewhere.
I'm in a taxi in way to my resort now.
But even though I have an all inclusive I want to explore the city and eat at some other places too.
I only have today to Monday.

Isla Mujeres looks like a winner.

Isla Mujeres. Other than the hotel zone Cancun is not a place to go exploring.

Eat at Bastos on Isla and get the arrechera steak. Thank me later. Bastos is mid island. Any taxi driver will know where it is.

Get a car or tax and hit some of the ruins around tulum.

Ive had a great meal at harrys in cancun. There is a walkable area where it is located with alot of vendors and stuff.

I'll do that. I want new experiences I've been to cozumel a few times but never Cancun. I got on early so stopped downtown. Not much really exciting but got my girls their sweatshirts and my Panama hat I always buy and then lose every Mexican trip.

Isla mujeres or Tulum were my top pics. I've done Chichen and Uxmal.

I like the local Yucatan coconut shrimp if anyone knows a good place.
I didn't rent a car I just figured we'd taxi around. But it's $400mx to go downtown to the hotel or $5mx to take the bus. I may check that R1 bus out.

I'll look into that steak though.
I want some good local fish too.
My inclusive has like Italian and Japanese and stuff. I want Yucatan style Mexican.

this

rent a car at the resort and go to tulum. Takes about 1.5hrs to get there. Spend a couple hours at the ruins then go to the beach road to shop/drink/eat. Words can’t describe the scene at the beach road it’s like a tropical blade runner scene

the tulum ruins are cool but the coba ruins you can climb to the top and it is very tall. Ive told this a few times on here but I got there before it open and paid and then took off right as it opened and got to the ruins about 15-20 minutes before everyone else... so I was able to chill at the top taking it in by myself with nobody around for like 20 min, which was a cool experience.

anyway, the coba ruins arent far from tulum, there is a highway you take a right on before you would get to tulum from cancun, then maybe 45 min to the ruins.

if you are looking for a car, isis car rental was a reputable one I found on the internet.

here is a pic showing how it looks

If you want local fish then ask for this. Fish cooked with achiote. So delicious.

That looks like some Indiana Jones shite there.
I don't have a car and not sure if I want to drive. Other than a golf cart at mugeres.

Why ask ahead? I'm staying at Sandos it's cheap and nice. Not as coffee to mall as I thought. Just passed it and duvet said we were close. But drove on for a bit.
I've already had 3 margaritas and two taco plates and haven't pulled my wallet out once. That's winning.

Easy driving to get there. They also have some cenotes in the area if you want to swim.

Tulum is cool but I’d go to Isla if you’ve already seen some ruins. More convenient too.

Might be just for dinner. Enjoy Isla. Love that little town. If you feel like a steak eat at Fredy's on Hidalgo. By steak , I mean American style steak. Bastos is for the authentic stuff.

They are supposed to open at 1 they aren't open yet. I'm going to grab a chicken dinner from this lady cooking on the street. Smells good.
May get Baatos later.
Have 9pm dinner reservations at my resort so I'm probably leaving the island for 6ish
