What the hell does that have to do with potentially having to replace 7-9 players this year?

Also means it was easier for MM to fill out a roster last year than it will be this year.

ETA. This “new rule” didn’t stop Coleman and Hill from leaving. It also wouldn’t stop Wilkinson, Phillips, Ward or Reed from transferring, on top of the 4 that have already bolted and KJ.

In fact there are only 4 players left on the roster that came here by way of transfer.
