I drop into a rolling boil, lid the pot, and count 3 minutes after I first see steam escape. Then I cool the pot enough to allow for a 20+ minute soak. Pot never returns to a boil.

Also, don't soak with the lid on.

Same here. Smaller crawfish I'll do 2 minutes. I do most of my work trying to cool the pot after. Having the pot by a drain is great for this. Hose and mix with the paddle and I'm done
