But there are a lot of people who enjoy the process.

Wht process is that? Are you firing up your kiln and making your own charcoal? Are you rubbing 2 sticks together to make fire? Or have you mastered the art of tearing open a bag you bought full of charcoal and lighting with a propane torch or lighter? That's quite an art you've mastered. Nobody eating the food you cook gives 2 shits how long you stayed up making love to your grill, you are the only one who cares.

I made fresh lump charcoal last weekend in an old metal trashcan.

Don’t get me wrong though. I probably own more grills and smokers than 99% of the population.

I have a Joe with an aftermarket fan (Gizmo) and aftermarket wifi temp probes.

There is some comfort if people are coming over for lunch, to being able to use the Joe and cook overnight and have 2 pork butts off the grill by 10am to properly rest for lunch.

I still use my Weber Kettkes (if you can only own 1 grill, I highly recommend the original Weber. If you have a little more dough get a PL (simply awesome)

I’m on a competition bbq team. I smoke something most every weekend. I’ve been doing it 20+ years.

I still learn things from both experienced and novice smokers.

Yall need to relax. Use what equipment you want.

Don’t let “Super bbq Bro” intimidate you.
